Presentations...

Two presentations today, and both of them pretty decent, I think. The first one was on software engineering, and was part of our course-work, which means everybody has has to give one. Krunal and I had to speak on risk analysis and management. I started off with risk analysis, and almost abruptly digressed into Brooks' law. As was expected, I was asked as to how was Brooks' law relevant to risk analysis. Since Brooks' law deals with scheduling I managed to partly convince the teacher that it was indeed relevant. Apart from the stuff that was relevant (well...almost), I also gave my batch-mates a piece of my mind...I said something to the effect of “You-all are a bunch of losers!”. I wasn't trying to be “cool” when I said that; I was only being factual. Before the discussion further wandered into MU bashing, a smart aleck batch-mate signalled to the teacher that there was no way she would convince me to say anything good about MU. That was when my talk ended. Krunal took over, and did well.

The second presentation was on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The attendees: folks from my college. It's part of the two-day workshop I am conducting (under the aegis of CSI) on those topics. Most folks in college know me as the “web dude”, which I hate. For those in college who didn't know me, I was given a painfully embarrassing introduction by one of the volunteers — Perl, Python, LISP, etc, etc. Heck, it's just a HTML/CSS/JS workshop! Anyway, from the feedback that I got from a few attendees, which included a couple of teachers, it seems that it was quite good.

So all's well!
