Flickr-LiveJournal Feed
Quite often I post pictures to Flickr (like the ones I uploaded recently. By the way, documentary evidence that Ruchi was here—here and here), and then post the picture to my blog. Posting here is kinda redundant, since I could very well use Flickr as a photoblog. (Many folks are using 360° for photoblogging; you could do that with Flickr too.)
Anyway, in an effort to reduce duplication, and to give you the option to subscribe to my Flickr and LiveJournal feeds as one, I’ve created a single feed, using FeedBurner. Get the feed here.
Latest Flickr Image
One problem with LiveJournal is the lack of control one has over his blog. I wanted to add a Flickr badge, but since it’s a JavaScript, I can’t. Anyway, I hacked a little Ruby script, using flickr-ruby, that gets the latest image I uploaded to Flickr, and then uploads it to my server. So I have a From Flickr thingie on the right hand side.
(While we are at it, Scott Raymond has an insanely easy Ruby interface to the Flickr photo-sharing service—Flickr.rb. There, we out-number the other language APIs.)
By the way, did I tell you that Swaroop gifted me a Flickr pro account? Maybe he was being nice to me because I was very supportive of his Powerbook, unlike some other folks :-).
