Now that I’m through reading two of Salinger’s books, I feel like I have only two things to look forward to in life—I mean really look forward to—his other two books. Serious. He’s friggin’ awesome.

My very own Holden Caulfield-like, teeny-bop, unpop, rebel has been playing stupid games in my friggin’ mind. He wants to get published, I guess. But the asshole’ll always have his ass hauled in some unidentified corner of my not-so-puny brain. I’m the only one who knew him... until now, of course. Technically, though, you still don’t know him.

Okay, fuck that crap. Those of you who’re looking for a Caulfield-like character, get yourselves a copy of Vernon God Little. Vernon Little: Holden Caulfield—Reloaded. Awesome stuff.

Endnote: did you know that money rules?

All books have an ideal age range to be read in. The best ones, though, give you different meanings at different ages, each of those meanings making complete sense.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is frequently praised as one such book, but I've only read it once, so can't confirm.

I loved "Catcher in the Rye", but I hated "Vernon God Little." I just couldn't appreciate it...

I think I know the reason: perhaps Vernon Little kept reminding you of Holden Caulfield—a tad too much—which led you to believe that Vernon isn't original?
