I’m currently writing a paper for ACM’s Crossroads. Can’t talk much about the paper at this point. It is due for publication sometime in April ’05, I think.

The editorial process is awesome!—and for good reason. Everything is scheduled. Even the five-day editorial cycle that I’m currently involved in is scheduled. In fact, tasks for the whole year are scheduled.

I have been through elaborate editorial processes in the past, but none like this.

Pretty much any Indian publication also has the next 12 months on schedule. Chip/Digit certainly did when I was there.

Oh, I never knew that.

For a publication that solicits papers from external sources, I am impressed with the scheduling, and more importantly that the schedule is being actually followed as intended!
