Book recommendation needed

Jesus knew—knew—that we're carrying the Kingdom of Heaven around with us, inside, where we're all too goddam stupid and sentimental and unimaginative to look? You have to be a son of God to know that kind of stuff.

--J. D. Salinger

Friday morning: had breakfast and beer from Pecos. Mikhail: bacon and eggs only on weekends. Living without beer is kinda difficult. First thing I did after reaching Bombay: bought four pints. :-)

Went shopping today at Inorbit. I wanted to buy a Magpie ash tray. (Magpie is an Indian company, by the way. Never knew that.) Found ash trays, but didn’t find what I was looking for—I wanted the one I had seen at Ruby Tuesday.

Well.

I have been waiting to read The Five People You Meet In Heaven. Unfortunately, my colleague hijacked that one. I picked up Diary today. Say, could you recommend a book that belongs to the, so to say, Salinger genre?

Bro bought a 1:24 Ford Mustang GT from Model Art. Tahir: They’ve got showrooms in Inorbit in Bombay, and Forum in Bangalore.

What was the breakfast(with beer)? :->

Have you read The Accidental Theorist by Paul Krugman?

Nope. You’d recommend it?

Yow! :( I want. :<

Oi, I haven't read the book. My brother has (not just once, it appears) and keeps raving about the book. So yeah, I'd recommend it.

if you are looking for the same adolescent angst and coming of age, i would recommend - 'the virgin suicides' by jeffrey eugenides - a brilliant meditation on love and growing up lonely in a crowd. another brilliant book that i would recommend is 'the man who fell in love with a moon' by tom spanbauer. but if you are in mumbai, you are all out of luck - oxford and crossroad wont stock these titles even if they were threaterned with nuclear attacks. try lotus in bandra - better chance there.

Shall take a look at the books—the reviews on Amazon weren’t particularly helpful.

I live in Bangalore, so maybe I should feel lucky. :-)

Thanks for the recommendations!
