Ruby in Hyderabad

So I'm off to Hyderabad this weekend, to preach Ruby and Rails to the ILUG-Hyd folks. Never been to the city. Looks better than Calicut. (If you enjoy sweating, you should go there, to Calicut.) Maybe I should visit some places.

Looking forward to meet the wonderful, friendly folks from [info]cyberabad. I think the [info]bangalore folks should outsource moderation stuff to them.

It’s been some time, maybe two weeks, since I’ve been to my favorite pub. I want to get drunk today, but I don’t exactly feel like it. I’m missing something, maybe someone, and I’m not sure what or who.

Sat through Sun.

Will leave Friday night, so should get there by Sat morning (noon?).

No place to stay. I’m hoping someone will give me accomodation, or point me to some place.

I finish my exam at 1 pm saturday(30th april), from then on, I'm free.

About a place to stay, you can crash at my place as long as we aren't sloshed. (There is no "I" in the word sloshed)

Last time [info]sampada was in hyd, we put her up at the BLue Moon hotel, Somajiguda.

Let's see how it works out. :)

It's awfully strange, but when I read "Rails in your post, I immediately thunk in terms of Quake. :o) I know, I'm slowly losing it! lol!

As to the outsourcing of moderation to us, that's gonna officially be the charge of a la [info]nash_da_basher who's currently the sole mod. :o) Apparently, we did'nt have a clue about what we were doing. :o)

I was working in Hyderabad for a while.

You can check out Fusion 9 (in Banjara Hills) for continental food; they also have a nice bar attached. There's one more place - forgot the name - it's on the road from Banjara Hills (road no. 3) to Jubilee Hills, opposite to a mithai/chaat hangout.

I hate preaching. If someone wants to take up programming in ruby or developing fiery apps on rails then s/he can learn the tools. You need not go door-to-door telling them how to use the tools.

Such hand-holding does not do any good to anyone.

Let's talk this over coffee and polluted air when I get back to bangalore. I will be back in town by monday.
