- I didn’t know Sam’s talk would cover some Ruby. Anyway, I did more like a hands-on thingie, and since many things didn’t overlap, things were good. I tried to demonstrate things that are different and fun in Ruby.
- Saying not-so-good things about PHP when Rasmus is in the audience — weird.
- Had a long discussion with Steve about OpenSpice.
- O’Reilly is coming to India.
- Bristol and Gold Leaf are popular cigarettes in Sri Lanka.
- Lion Beer is popular (and nice).
- Marvan Atapatu and Sanath Jayasuriya are rock stars.
- Bollywood stars are very popular here.
- Quite a lot of folks listen to classic rock. (There are at least a couple classic rock radio stations.)
- Stigmata and Paranoid Earthling are popular Sri Lankan rock bands.

A small group of developers is in the process of developing a language by the name MillScript, which is an Implementation of OpenSpice. This language has many similarities to Ruby. Check the following links :
